2013 Share the Road Tour - what was achieved and how does it help?

Congratulations is deserved to everyone who participated in the Share the Road Tour in 2013 where over $200,000 was raised!

Support from the riders taking part directly contributed in a number of ways to assist the AGF’s ongoing advocacy and consumer behaviour change efforts.  These include:

  • our continued efforts in 2014 to drive legislative review and change with Tasmania the first state to show bi-partisan support for minimum passing distance legislation
  • Andrew Nikolic MP, Cycling Tasmania and Richie Porte spearheading the federal a metre matters petition launched by the AGF at the 2014 Australian Road Cycling Championships
  • AGF’s delivery of the a metre matters campaign into Tasmania
  • investment in further research and policy development for educational and legislative change nationally
  • the ongoing development of the Cycle Safe Communities platform to provide councils and community groups with access to AGF developed materials

We look forward to welcoming the riders who take part in the 2014 Share the Road Tour experience to help us continue the momentum!
